Guilford County Schools Art Teachers Show

Art teachers:  Are you interested in showing your own art work in the GCS art teachers’ show coming up in November.  Renee Lauver, owner of  Irving Park Art & Frame, is graciously sponsoring this show for GCS art teachers again this year, and  I am happy to help organize the show. This is a wonderful opportunity to show our community the amazing talents of GCS art teachers. 

Here is some information you need to know if you are interested in participating.  Please read and save the information and dates.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: ART WORK/ SHOW REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-D and 3-D work accepted.  (Jewelry, pottery, glassware, handmade leather goods, etc… ) Art work must be ready to hang with wire or saw tooth hangers.)   
  • All work must be available for sale.
  • Paintings and drawings exhibited should be works not shown at previous teacher shows at Irving Park Art & Frame.
  • COMMISSION RATE: 10% to IPAF during show. 40% to IPAF after the show if work is kept after the show.  Please price your work to accommodate 40%/60% commission rate.
  • Artists must attend reception.
  • Each participant contributes  food item or paper products for the reception.
  • Irving Park Art and Frame will provide smoked salmon platter, ice, and beverages.

WHEN and WHERE:    Friday February 9- March 2, 2018                                                                                        Irving Park Art and Frame, 2105 W. Cornwallis Dr. Suite A, Greensboro NC

DROP OFF ART WORK: Tuesday and Wednesday Feb. 6th and 7th  (The gallery can  accommodate 2-D and 3-D work.  Jewelry, Pottery, Sculpture, etc…

HANG SHOW:  Thursday Feb. 7th (I will need 3-4 people to help me hang the show after school on Wednesday February 7th .  If you are willing to help, let me know.)

OPENING RECEPTION:  Friday February 9th, 5:30-8:30 pm

PICK UP ART:  Saturday March 3rd , 10 am - 4pm 

DEADLINE TO PARTICIPATE:  Let me know if you want to participate by Wednesday November 22nd.  (Before Thanksgiving Holiday)

*** Once I know how many people are participating, I will be able to let you know how much exhibit space you are allotted.   Closer to the event, I will send out what you will need to provide for the reception.

 

Also, Renee Lauver, will advertise this event in “O’Henry”, “1808”, “Citybeat”,  as well as through Constant Contact, Facebook and through printed invitations.  I will be asking for images of your art later that can be used for advertising the show.
